Copper Processor

Copper Processor is one of the newest branches of Persian handicrafts, emerging in recent decades as a modern interpretation of Iran’s rich artistic traditions. Inspired by the centuries-old beauty of minakari (Persian enamel work) and miniature painting, this art form reimagines copperware in a contemporary way—balancing heritage with innovation.

Unlike traditional enamelware, where the entire surface is glazed and kiln-fired, in Pardaz only selected sections of the copper vessel are hand-painted with classic motifs such as flowers, birds, and arabesques. The rest of the surface is left uncovered, allowing the natural shine of polished copper to remain visible. A transparent polyester coating is then applied, protecting the artwork while adding a lasting gloss.

The appeal of Copper Processor lies in its contrasts: the warm radiance of bare copper set against vibrant hand-painted designs in turquoise, lapis blue, green, and red. This harmony of metal and color creates pieces that are at once decorative and practical, suitable for both modern interiors and traditional settings.

As a relatively recent art, Copper Processor has quickly gained popularity for several reasons:

Authenticity with innovation – rooted in Persian artistic heritage but presented in a fresh, contemporary style.

Functional beauty – unlike enamelware, many Pardaz vessels are safe for everyday use, from fruit bowls and nut dishes to tea sets and decorative items.

Durability – the protective coating preserves the artwork, ensuring it remains vivid and elegant over time.

Accessibility – with simpler production than enamelware, Pardaz pieces are often more affordable while maintaining the charm of handmade art.

Today, Copper Processor stands as a symbol of how traditional Persian artistry continues to evolve, offering creations that are timeless, versatile, and uniquely captivating for art lovers around the world.
